UAS (Drone) Surveying & Mapping
Cinquini & Passarino provides aerial surveying via small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS). Adding a small unmanned aircraft system, more commonly referred to as a drone, to our toolbox enables Cinquini & Passarino to quickly provide our clients geo-referenced digital images; digital terrain models; point cloud models; bridge, dam, tower, and building inspections; near-infrared photography; 3D modeling; and high definition video.
Safety First
As with all aircraft, safety is of the utmost importance. Our pilots are FAA certified remote pilots in accordance
with 14 CFR Part 107, the recently enacted rules by which operators of commercial unmanned aircraft must follow. In addition, our remote pilots go through extensive ground school training,
simulator training and actual flight training. Incorporation of standard safety check lists ensures we will fly when safe. Our SenseFly Albris drone has on board navcams so our remote pilot can see in various directions when flying; ultrasonic sensors with an audible alarm for collision avoidance for bridge, building and tower inspections; and LED navigation lights for high visibility when in the air.
Why Drones?
The incorporation of unmanned aerial systems into our Professional Land Surveyor work flow is a natural pairing. For decades surveyors have placed the ground control for aerial surveys to ensure accuracy of ground models and geo-referenced images for a variety of projects. Drones allow our survey team to better control the quality and accuracy of the of our aerial deliverables while decreasing project timelines.
Through the use of drones Cinquini & Passarino can provide a historical snap shot in time to document site conditions, vegetation, drainage patterns, and the progression of construction projects at a high frequency and a low cost to better serve our clients.
